What is South Central like today ?

      Today South Central is better then what most people have pictured. South Central have changed a little bit besides the gangs i think its a good community too live and go too school in. I mean i am looking forward too moving away but it isn’t something i would choose i just want too take an adventure out of South Central ,I love this place where i grew up but sometimes it can get scary. Like the Gangs it scares most people but im very used too it because i lived here forever and i know a lot of people so I don’t think they would hurt me. Today South Central is GREAT!

Three important events that had the greatest impact on making South Central what it is today is Watts Riots ,LA Riots ,and gang history.

The first event that has made South Central what it is today.

    The first event that I have choose was Watts Riots. Why is it important ? too me its important because its part of our history and it gives you plenty of reasons why you shouldn’t want too go threw riots. Some riots our dangerous an may lead too difficult things that may or may not hurt you. Things that i know about the event is that it was started by a Black male named Marquette Frye his brother and a white police officer. The police officer had stopped Marquette Frye for reckless driving and as he stopped him the police officer claims that Frye was resisting but he wasn’t so his brother Ronald ran too his mother too tell his mom what was going on so the car wont get towed Frye and the policeman started too argue an Marquette was arrested the mother refused for her son too get arrested an the policeman an mom Frye and the brother started too fight with the police and thats how the riot began. Its important because it shows racism and false charges.

The Second event that has made South Central what it is today is… LA Riots.

    I have chosen LA riots because its important why is it important ? well because of all the riots they have had and like when you compare them its all the same RACISM! i choose it because this is worlds history and this also has a LARGE impact on life. what i know about this is that Rodney King was pulled over by a police officer for speeding 110mph. But Rodney new if he had stopped it would have been a violation too his probation so he led the police into a high speed chase. After that A young women name Latasha Harlins was murdered by some Korean lady for stealing but she wasn’t stealing she was paying for it but before she had payed she put it in her bag and when she went to the register to pay the lady tried to grab her bag and when she did Latasha hit her then tried too run an Soon Ja Du shot her in the head. The Lady was charged with murder but she just had to pay a fine. Thats important because now its different but some people still may act the same way and we need too change that so we can have a better brighter future.

The third event that has made South Central what it is today  is …Gang History

  I chose it because there is still many gangs now that is hurting the community and not making the community no better nor bringing peace. What i know about Gang history is that First there where small clicks but it wasnt anything too worry about because they wasn’t as big as gangs. Then we heard of a white gang called the Spook hunters and as everyone new it was a huge threat because it was full of white racism. So then came the Slauson gang the Black Panthers And the Brown Berets. but after they was gone they formed gangs the LARGEST gang was formed by Tookie Williams. Then we have the bloods and the 18sts. Those where all big gangs. its important because it shows all our gang history and why they was gangs back then because now the gangs have a totally different meaning.

 Conclusion

  Overall ,i feel safe in the community im in but the three events Watts Riots La Riots and  gang history. The future should be able too change im not going too say its going too change because i have no clue. But if theres many people like me then it would be sure too change only thing that im worried about is the gangs. If many people look back at our history maybe they can change it becuase of the way other people suffered.

i have technostudies finals and my english finals. Have i studied NO but i think i still have a chance of doing well on my finals. Since i havent studied Im going too try and do what i can now to study for the finals. The grade i think i would get on the finals is maybe a C nothing lower then that! but overall for period 1 and 2 i think i would be getting a d or fail in the classes because i havent been too school to do work.

First thing ,come too school everyday and come on time. Second thing ,dont get kicked out of class stay in class too do my work and learn. Third ,do my homework and dont mess up. Things i could do so i can start off good in the 10th grade is too just do all my work and pay attention in class. Go after school and make up some work too bring your grades up its going to hurt you in the long run not anybody else but you.

overall ,The parts that i have taken i think i did well on them. ithink i did my best on all the ones i have done. math was sort of difficult because i havent been welcome inside of my classroom for math because of my behavior i just feel that i shouldve been in class and i think i couldve done better! i did my best on the test though i tried my HARDEST!

i think i started off good ,i ended on the Third page i feel good about where im at on blurb. i think Blurb book program is a good program too help people with books and how too write books why ? because it has all the features and things and you can change the backgrounds to make it look better. It was a little too easy for me because of the directions i had and i dont knoe i jst understand things ( sometimes ) easily. yes i think i would be successful doing this program why ? because i knoe how too doo it & i understand this program clearly. SO overall ,i think it will be good

The best Advice Ive ever had was advice from my momaa because she probably been through it already or she can give me a lesson learned! the situation was about how school is and how my grades keep on going down. Yes i still listen too the advice still today that advice is what i go by. I learned from both because they both told me valuable things.

Growing up in South Central is unique ,why ? because it has improved and some people think its bad but we proved them wrong some people think we are not going too be able too get a education but we DID! and im working on mines :). Four things that make the South Central unique is Stores ,Schools ,Parks & peace. Stores because people meet there and buy things ,Schools because people goo there too better themselves and make a education ,Parks because you can see familys there hanging out having a picnic & peace because thats what everyone wants and are getting. But Overall ,i personally like living in Los Angeles because i know people that live here & i like the respectful people & some of there schools and houses.

Something i want too improve in the next 8weeks is ,too bring my grades up &start coming too school more. i think its going too be my test the CST! & get my grades up.i would like too end with Cs ,Bs & As.
